Pick & Bow at Carcassonne!

We are thrilled to announce the partnership between Hindman Settlement School’s Pick & Bow and Letcher County Pick & Bow, now bringing this incredible after-school music program to Carcassonne! This program offers free lessons in acoustic instruments, fostering a love for Appalachian old-time music among our youth.
Program Overview
Pick & Bow is part of the ‘In These Mountains: Central Appalachian Folk Arts and Culture’ initiative, supported by South Arts. This program is dedicated to providing opportunities to learn and play traditional Appalachian instruments such as guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, dulcimer, and ukulele.
Lesson Details
Lessons will be held on Wednesdays, weather permitting, from 6:30 – 7:30pm at the Carcassonne Community Center which is also our normal recreation day so feel free to stay with your kiddos and have a meal with the community.
