We are proud to announce that the Carcassonne Community Center has been recognized by the Letcher County Community Foundation for outstanding efforts in providing assistance and relief during the devastating flood that affected our region just one year ago.

We are honored to receive this recognition and want to express our gratitude to all the volunteers, donors, and sponsors who supported our relief efforts. The flood brought immense devastation to our community, displacing families, causing significant damage to properties, and tragically claiming the lives of 47 people. In the immediate aftermath, Carcassonne Community Center stepped up to the challenge of providing support and relief to those in need.

Although we were not directly impacted, we knew the needs of the community would come in various forms, so we immediately opened our doors to anyone who needed them, along with acting as a distribution hub for both supplies and financial donations. We are humbled by the recognition received from the Letcher County Community Foundation. This acknowledgment is a testament to the collective efforts of everyone involved in our relief initiatives. It serves as a reminder of the strength and resilience of our community, as well as the impact we can make when we come together.

At Carcassonne Community Center, we remain committed to serving our community, especially during challenging times. We will continue to work diligently to provide relief, support, and resources to those in need. However, we cannot achieve this without the ongoing support of our volunteers, donors, and sponsors.
